The Humboldt Cannabis Chamber kicked off its first mixer in May 2016 after months of planning and organizing from our three founding board members: Allison, Christina and Dani. In Fall 2016, following an application process, Hollie and Matt were added to the Board of Directors bringing the total to five. A year later in the autumn of 2017, the board welcomed Laura Lasseter and Rob Page.
The chamber is designed to build connections and educational resources for the business owners, entrepreneurs and community members who work within the cannabis sector, along with the companies interested in providing services to this emerging industry. Our membership is made up of diverse businesses from a variety of industries and backgrounds.

Founder Fibonacci Farms MBC
Producer Cover Cannabis Insurance Solutions
Michael Gordon moved to Humboldt County in 1999, from Anaheim CA, to attend Humboldt State University and graduated with a Bachelors in Science of Business Administration in 2001. After college
Mike worked for Pacific Union Elementary in Arcata as a day care assistant for a short period of time, then Alice Birney Head Start in Eureka as the Head Chef for their preschool program.
Knowing that he wanted to stay in Humboldt, but not knowing which career path to take was a challenge that needed overcoming. So, Mike went back to college, this time at College of the Redwoods to further refine his education and focus on Real Estate and Sustainable Agriculture. Mike became a licensed Real Estate Agent in 2003 and began working for Bay Pointe Mortgage for the next 7 years while at the same time pursuing his passion for cannabis cultivation.
When 2015 came along, Humboldt County was slated to be one of the first counties in California to regulate the Cannabis Industry, so Mike went into action and tried to help forge a way forward for the smallest of our counties cultivators, advocating for sensible solutions for our counties cottage farms. Feeling overwhelmed but not overcome, Mike founded Fibonacci Farms MBC and has continually participated in compliance workshops while giving feedback to the regulatory agencies thru the process.
At the end of 2017, Mike received his Insurance License and began working with Cover Cannabis, who has been offering cannabis insurance solutions for over 11 years. This was a great opportunity to team up with most knowledgeable agency in the market to offer comprehensive insurance solutions to Humboldt Counties Cannabis Industry.
Living on “Humboldt Time” for the last 19 years has shown to be somewhat of a time warp, and before he knew it 2018 is here and Mike found himself the father of three boys ages 7, 4, and 1, while happily living with his loving partner of 19 years on his little piece of paradise in Hydesville, CA.
